It’s only a year since Maserati whisked the covers off the delectable Granturismo and the Italians are unveiling a new, more powerful version. The Granturismo S receives a heart transplant from the sister company Alfa Romeo – in the shape of the 4.7-litre V8 from the 8C supercar. The extra half litre provides more muscle, power rising to 434bhp, compared with the regular Granturismo’s sundry 400bhp. Maserati hasn’t issued performance figures ahead of the car’s Geneva show debut next week, but it’ll clearly be supercar-quick, with a 0-60mph time in less than five seconds.
A new site claims IKEA is about to launch a car - on the 1st April! [ad#ad-1]
The latest silly site to go (semi) viral online this week purports to be teasing a new car from IKEA, that hell of a flat-pack, windowless, clockless shopping experience where the only instructions you get for assembling your insane purchase are a set of pictures on a big sheet of paper, that seemingly have no resemblance to the contents of the package you’ve been stupefied in to buying. Now on the face of it this is perhaps plausible.

CAR recently interviewed the two men running newly independent Saab: Jan Åke Jonsson, Saab's chief executive officer who's carrying on running the Trollhattan business, and Victor Muller, the entrepreneurial CEO of sports car maker Spyker. In a frank, half-hour interview, Jonsson and Muller talk about their plans for Saab, future models and what went wrong under GM.
